Indonesia Export Update 2021
The trade balance for the non-oil and gas processing industry during January-March 2021 experienced a surplus of USD 3.69 billion. This positive achievement was the result of the increased export performance of the manufacturing sector during that period.

"Cumulatively, the export value of the non-oil and gas processing industry in January-March 2021 is USD 39 billion, an increase of 18 percent compared to the same period the previous year," said Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita

"During the three months of this year, the manufacturing sector contributed the largest up to 80 % of the total national export value which touched USD 49 billion," he said.

The three top sectors that made the manufacturing export performance glorious, namely the food and beverage industry with a contribution of USD 9.7 billion, followed by the base metal industry reaching USD 5.8 billion, and the chemical and chemical goods industry of USD 4 billion.

"When viewed from the forming factors, the export value of the food industry sector is dominated by palm oil commodities," said Minister Agus.

Meanwhile, thanks to down streaming in the metal sector, exports of Indonesian iron and steel products have provided significant added value for foreign exchange.
